Simon Vreeswijk
Simon is Q College’s social marketing guru. He’s also one of those lucky people whose job is also his passion. He loves opening people’s eyes to the effectiveness of web marketing and to the importance of creating a marketing plan for your website.
As a graduate of Q College and a former northStudio intern, Simon has more than five years experience as a Web Developer and SEO specialist. He teaches the Internet Marketing portion of Q College’s Web Developer Diploma course and has also taught basic computer courses, Office courses, and provided one-on-one Macromedia Dreamweaver training. Simon also provides in-house tech support for Q College and is skilled in Drupal Development, Wordpress, CSS, HTML, PHP, MySQL, and other aspects of web design.
As an instructor, Simon believes in holding more of a conversation than a lecture. The small, intimate classes at Q College allow him to help students with their issues rather than just ranting and raving at the front of a classroom. He lets the class dictate the speed and flow of the course, provides plenty of take-home material for students to study on their own and is always available for follow-up questions.
His favourite part about teaching is learning new things during the preparation process. Instructors really need to understand every aspect of their material, so Simon is always feeding his brain new information.. And because social media is constantly evolving, he really knows his stuff.
Internet marketing is a step that’s often overlooked. After Simon’s sessions, students that go through VSBT’s web design diploma course are much better prepared to succeed.
